This is a great quote that sums up what we celebrate tomorrow morning. Wright said this about the resurrection, “People often flail around in desperation to find an alternative explanation for the empty tomb....” The resurrection is central to our surrender to Jesus. Critics attempting to bypass the reality of Easter are trying to fit Jesus into, as N. T. Wright said, “their comfortable worldview.” We’re celebrating Jesus’ literal, bodily resurrection Sunday morning and the challenges faced by the first witnesses of the empty tomb. Throughout my life I’ve heard preachers and teachers talk of the importance of biblical topics in relation to the number of times it is mentioned in the text.
